System Change and Community Engagement Services
Our System Change and Community Engagement Services are designed to address inequities in education by creating sustainable, inclusive, and culturally responsive systems. We collaborate with families, educators, policymakers, and community stakeholders to ensure that all students—particularly those from historically marginalized communities—have access to high-quality education and meaningful representation. Our approach is anchored in six strategic pillars:
Parent Education
We believe that empowered parents are key agents of change in a child’s educational journey. Our services include:
- Workshops and training sessions that equip parents with tools to support academic success, mental wellness, and advocacy.
- Guidance on navigating the school system, including special education, multilingual services, and parent rights.
- Culturally relevant materials and multilingual support to ensure accessibility for diverse families.
Goal: Strengthen parental confidence and engagement by providing the knowledge and resources needed to advocate for their children’s learning and well-being.
Policy Advocacy and Reform
We actively contribute to transforming systems by advocating for inclusive policies and equitable practices. Our efforts include:
- Organizing campaigns and coalitions that uplift community voices and demand equity in education policy.
- Partnering with policymakers to shape legislation that addresses opportunity gaps and structural barriers.
- Conducting policy reviews and presenting evidence-based recommendations to school boards and district leaders.
Goal: Influence education reform that reflects the lived experiences of families, dismantles inequities, and ensures justice-centered practices.
Family and Community Partnerships
We foster authentic, two-way partnerships that unite families, schools, and communities in pursuit of educational justice. Our work includes:
- Hosting community forums, listening sessions, and roundtables to amplify concerns and ideas.
- Co-developing solutions with families, educators, and local organizations.
- Creating welcoming, inclusive environments where families feel seen, heard, and valued.
Goal: Build collaborative relationships that promote shared ownership of student success and community upliftment.
Leadership and Educator Empowerment
We support educators and school leaders in building equitable classrooms and inclusive leadership practices. Our services offer:
- Professional development on anti-racist pedagogy, cultural responsiveness, and inclusive leadership.
- Coaching and technical assistance to foster equity-driven school transformation.
- Resources to strengthen teacher leadership and school-wide instructional coherence.
Goal: Cultivate empowered educators who lead with empathy, equity, and a commitment to dismantling educational barriers.
Data-Driven Decision Making
We utilize research and real-time data to guide programming, measure impact, and advocate for change. Our data work includes:
- Community needs assessments, program evaluations, and impact studies.
- Training stakeholders in using data to inform instruction, equity planning, and systems change.
- Making data accessible and transparent to families, communities, and decision-makers.
Goal: Ensure that decisions are grounded in evidence, reflect community needs, and lead to measurable improvements in student outcomes.
Student Voice and Agency
We center the voices of young people and nurture their leadership. Our programs:
- Create safe spaces for students to speak, organize, and lead change efforts.
- Support youth in identifying problems and designing solutions through civic engagement, storytelling, and policy participation.
- Include youth in advisory boards, focus groups, and leadership councils.
Goal: Elevate student agency by empowering youth to shape the systems that affect their lives and futures.
